OT: a note on eitquite from another message board
For your consideration - I found this thread on another message board which I frequent, and the subject has come up here often in the past: please and thank you
There are many posts that I'd like to read but skip because there is no punctuation or capitalization, just one long run-on sentence. I'm sure the posters have no idea what a headache it can be to read this. Maybe it's a generational thing? Anyhow, please write in decipherable sentences, because I'd very much like to read what you write.
(First reply):
I'm especially impressed when our younger members refrain from "text message style" writing ("Ur" instead of "your" or "you're", etc.) Also, our posters who's first language is something other than English, do a wonderful job as well!
My only critique: the title of the thread was all lower case. Indeed, there are certain posters on that board and on this one as well whose posts I generally skip, because I have found from experience that they are too difficult to read. Not that they are incomprehensible, but the amount of time and effort necessary to decipher them is generally not worthwhile. |

Very well put. I hope this helps out. I am one of the people on here as well that do tend to skip past the mentioned posts. It is not at all hard to put a little effort in writing. A a helpful hint to all the users out there that use Mozilla Firefox it is very helpful at spell checking while writing on these posts or other message boards. I am one here that greatly appreciates it, as I tend to type to fast and make numerous errors but having spell check does help out here. |
