A not so MAGICAL time in Disneyland

We arrived at 9am on 10/7 and went to upgrade our passes to a three day park hopper and the cast member was very rude about us changing the pass. We walked into the Magic Kingdom to guest services to get a copy of our dinning reservations and strike two the cast member was extremely rude and said we don't do that here and tossed a piece of paper at us and said call the number. At this point I'm like wow and thought Six Flags purchased Disneyland. Where is the magic that Walt built. We stayed a few hour and there was nothing said about my wife's 1st visit button. I have been to Disneyland before and never seen it this way and Walt Disney World the magic is in the air everywhere. We ate at Goofy's Kitchen on 10/8 and that was great then we walked into the Fantasia gisft shop in the Disneyland Hotel and as my wife was waiting for the cashier another cast member grabed my wife by the shoulders and moved her to her correct spot and the cast member said this is where you should be waiting. At this point I get the hotel manager and he was somewhat polite and said that this was unacceptable and we spoke with the merch manager and she spoke to the cast member and they both came back to us saying that it was a bad call and that they are sorry. So now after the first day of crap and touching and physically moving my wife we had enough of Disneyland and left. Waste of money on upgrading the pass and wasted money not going to the trick or treat party on the 8th. I have had bad visits to Six Flags parks, but nothing like this. The Disneyland cast members should be ashamed of what non Walt magic there is in the so called happiest place on earth.

Wow is all I can say. When a bad thing happens first-off, it tends to set the tone for the day. If I were you, though, I would've burnt those passes up utilizing them to the fullest --- especially the trick or treat party event. (I just hate wasting money!!). Then I would re-think visiting the park ever again.

Oh, and by all means, make your concerns known to the park management.

Whine, whine, whine. Why did you bother writing this? As far as I know you only accomplished four things in three days:

- Upgrade your passes
- Go to Guest Services (???), presumably City Hall.
- Eat at Goofy's Kitchen
- Go to the hotel gift shop.

So this is all that you managed to do? What a worthless report. I'm calling bull s**t on this report. I refuse to believe that these three minor incidents over the course of three days would ruin an entire vacation.

There is no mention of the new and amazing Halloween fireworks display, Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy or always great Haunted Mansion Holiday. What about some talk about the most underrated theme park in the world - Disney's California Adventure park.

So basically, if I read this correctly, all you did was go around and pick fights with cast members.

I'm at the Disneyland Resort several times per month and rarely do I have bad interactions with cast members. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it's not often and usually when I see it happening it's because the guest is in a rotten mood.

So I take it this is sort of a repeat of another poster that had a miserable day at SFGAdv a few months ago?

Re: A not so MAGICAL time in Disneyland

Ok so it was not a magical time at the parks, but will admit that SM Ghost Galaxy was great along with the Aladin Musical and DCA does have a bright future. So no it was not picking fights with cast members. My wife and I are huge Disney fans and we were very excited to go to Disneyland. The feel of the parks is no where near Florida, but on the backside Disneyland has the better rides and is still very much original. I was hoping for the magic that Walt built but my visits it was not really there.
