Water park/Theme park project..

Hello everyone, I haven't been on here in years, I don't rememember my username..

Anyway, I thought I would post this question on this board since I recall there were some very knowledeable users here!

Do you think I'm way over my head starting a water park/theme park in europe?

Like many of us it always seems like we all have ideas on starting a project like this but as you further explore the posibilty it becomes obvious it's more than just ideas!

I've already had very preliminary discussions on feasibility/master planning etc but I still have many concerns..

So do you think I'm way over my head?

Thx

Way too vague. You're going to have to be more specific in your financial plans, targeted attendance, location, etc etc etc. In general though, I'd have to answer "yes" to your question, unless you have a spare $50 million hanging around.

Re: Water park/Theme park project..

Are you an investor, developer, or already in the industry?

If you have a business plan and the capital, no, you are not in over your head. Europe, Southern especially, has plenty of summer weather to make a seasonal water park possible. With better technology for indoor water parks, there is no reason why one could not be successful in Europe.

That will be one heck of a loan, though. I'll spot you a few.

I'm not in the industry so that's obviusly why I have my concerns. Also the finances are not a big concern either since I believe my investors amount will be more than adequate to atleast start your above average water park.

My biggest concern would be the initial staffing, accounting, management etc. I believe starting with a water park first than evolving into a theme park may relieve some of the initial growing pains. I mean getting maintenance personel for coasters & round rides seems like a daunting task...

Thx for your thoughts!

Re: Water park/Theme park project..

If you're asking this question, on this message board, then the answer is "Yes" you're over your head.

No offense, but if you weren't in over your head you wouldn't be on an enthusiasts/fan message board asking this question.

There are several companies that specialize in preparing fesibility studies for amusement attractions. I think your question would be better directed at one of these companies.
