Flat rides?????
I get when you say liker hypercoasters and stuff like that but why would flasback from sfmm be considered a flat ride? What constitute a flat ride, and how many are there in sfmm and sfmw and paramounts great america in the bay area so i can get an idea of what they are. I am a dork, i should know this but i just dont get the definition fully. |

Ok if you wanna know coasters, use this site or www.rcdb.com its got any coaster you can think of. For flat rides, you can look them up at www.flatrides.com they have any flat ride from any manufactorer you can think of. I hope this helps you! Kate |

Re: Flat rides?????
There's also www.flatrides.com which is a great listing of flat rides and pictures of them so you know what they are. Essentially, flat rides are any ride that isn't:
They're often called "spin and pukes" because most of them spin you around in some way or another, often in several at once. If you can imagine it being a ride at a traveling carnival, it is more than likely a flat ride. Oh, and for the record, Flashback at SFMM, in all it's piece of junk glory, isn't a flat ride. It's a roller coaster. The total list of flats at SFMM would include:
Yes, that's right. They have more coasters than flats. And that's majorly imbalanced. But that's a whole 'nother discussion. :) |

LOL, I'd even debate #3, as I consider them "flatrides"...the only things I *don't* consider as flats are coasters and water rides (incl. shoot-the-chutes). There's really no *clear delineation* that I know if, but my classifying leaves just coasters, water rides, flats, and simulators. bill, recently converted to flatride junkie...:~) |
