Formerly named Paramount Canada's Wonderland, for the 2007 season the park has dropped Paramount from its name.
Canada's Wonderland is located in Vaughan just north of Toronto. This 330-acre theme park and 20-acre waterpark has more than 200 attractions, including 60 thrill rides. The park's vast collection of rides includes 14 roller coasters and the largest collection of flat rides for any theme park in the world. Splash Works waterpark, included with park admission, has 16 water slides, a lazy river and Canada's largest outdoor wave pool. Canada's Wonderland is one of the best attended seasonal theme parks in North America with more than 3 million guests visiting annually.
Canada's Wonderland opened on May 23, 1981 after two years of construction. The park was eventually purchased by Viacom and re-branded Paramount Canada's Wonderland. In June 2006, the entire Paramount Parks chain was sold to Sandusky, Ohio based park operator Cedar Fair.
