Lake Compounce

Bristol, CT
Lake Compounce is New England's Family Theme Park and the country's oldest amusement park dating back to 1846. This historic amusement park is located beneath Compounce Mountain and beside a beautiful lake. The park began as a picnic area at the end of a trolley line in the 1800s and is now the number one seasonal attraction in Connecticut. Since 1997 the park has been managed by the Kennywood Entertainment Company and has seen tremendous growth, yet it still maintains its old character and wonderful charm. The park features more than 50 rides and attractions, including a lakeside waterpark, three roller coasters, a white-water rafting ride, sky ride, log flume and a historic 1893 carousel that has been operating at the park since 1911. Boulder Dash one of two wooden coasters at Lake Compounce has been voted #1 by the National Amusement Park Historical Association.
