Editor's Pick – Tucked away in a quiet valley in Central Pennsylvania is Knoebels Amusement Park & Resort. Located on PA route 487 in Elysburg this historic amusement park has been owned and operated by the Knoebel family since July 4, 1926. The park has no main entrance, gate or fence, so therefore, no admission fee. Parking is free, as well. Found throughout the park's wooded grounds are more than 50 different rides, including two top-rated wooden roller coasters, the famous Haunted Mansion for fright lovers, log flume, bumper cars, flying scooters and a historic brass ring Carousel. Rides are pay-as-you-go with tickets or you can buy a pay-one-price handstamp on weekdays. On warm summer days the entire family can cool off in the "Crystal Pool" swimming pool and waterslides. For those spending the night, the park has several on site cabins and a neighboring campground with over 500 sites, each with an electrical hook-up.
