Disney's California Adventure park opened as the second gate at the Disneyland Resort on February 8, 2001. Designed by Walt Disney Imagineering in the tradition, fun and magic of classic Disney to capture the allure and beauty of Northern, Central and Southern California on 55 acres of attractions. Among the themed areas is an exciting California beachfront, a Hollywood-inspired district, and an area celebrating the state's natural beauty and diverse cultures.
