One of England's most popular theme parks attracting approximately 2.5 million visitors per year. Alton Towers has 33 rides and attractions, including eight roller coasters and three water rides. The theme park is split into 12 different themed areas with an aerial Sky Ride connecting three of the sections. Alton Towers is located north of the village of Alton in Straffordshire. The theme park is actually located on the site of a semi-ruinous gothic country house of the same name.
