Speed The Ride

NASCAR Cafe

This landmark attraction at the Las Vegas Nascar Cafe launches riders on a thrilling journey at speeds of up to 70 mph. Speed The Ride uses Linear Induction Motors (LIMs) to propel the roller coaster. Starting inside the Nascar Cafe, the LIMs launch the train outside and along the Las Vegas Strip. Diving into a tunnel passengers enter a vertical loop before being propelled by the LIMs a second time to reach 70 mph. Shooting through the Sahara marquee the course soon ends with a 90-degree, 224-foot tall vertical spike that the train ascends before reversing directions. The thrills continue when the train repeats the course, this time traveling backwards.
