Son of Beast

Kings Island
Son of Beast is a record breaking wooden roller coaster that was designed to elevate the "classic" wood coaster experience to a new level. Son of Beast is the tallest, fastest wooden coaster in the world and the only one to ever feature a evolutionary concept, a 118-foot tall vertical loop. Unfortunately, the loop was removed for the 2007 season. Son of Beast is appropriately named after its legendary predecessor, The Beast, which was built in 1979 and to this day is listed in the Guiness Book of Records as the world's longest wooden coaster. Now thanks to $40-million invested in building a sibling, Kings Island can lay claim to all of the world records for wooden roller coasters.
