Knott's Berry Farm puts a twist on a traditional roller coaster with Sierra Sidewinder. Designed by Mack Rides of Germany, was only the second coaster of its kind in the world. Sierra Sidewinder is a spinning roller coaster, but instead of having individual cars it has two trains of four spinning cars. Riders are seated two abreast per row, back-to-back, in the two row cars. Sierra Sidewinder is 1,411 feet long, stands six stories tall and features a 39-foot first drop that propels the trains to a top speed of 37 mph. The spining cars are uncontrolled so each ride should deliver a unique ride experience. Sierra Sidewinder is located at the entrance of Knott's Camp Snoopy children's area.
