Lakemont Park

Leap the Dips is a National Historic Landmark and the world's oldest operating roller coaster. The ride was closed in t1985 and was almost destroyed, but preservation efforts helped to restore this coaster for future generations. Built at in 1902 by the E. Joy Morris Company, this historic wooden roller coaster reopened on Memorial Day 1999. Leap the Dips is now one of only a few remaining side-friction wooden roller coasters in existence today.
