This is a bobsled roller coaster with individual ten-passenger cars that navigate a twisting, turning U-shape trough. The cars are not attached to a track, but instead they rely on gravity to determine the speed and course as they roll down the trough. Disaster Transport began as the Avalanche Run roller coaster in 1985. After five seasons, Cedar Point spent $4 million to enclose the ride and enhance it with special effects and props. After the changes the attraction was renamed Disaster Transport.
