Lakeside Amusement Park

This traditional wooden roller coaster has been operating at Lakeside Amusement Park for nearly 70 years. Recognized as an ACE Coaster Classic, the Cyclone takes you on a trip back to a different era. This historic attraction was designed and built by Edward A. Vettel in 1940 after Lakeside owner Ben Krasner contracted the T.M. Harton Company to build a roller coaster based on a one he found in New Orleans. Vettel designed the Cyclone with an out and back layout that features a left hand curve drop into a helix before the out and back portion. Also of note is the Art Deco style station, which is an attraction itself, with incredible detail and bright neon lights to draw park visitors to the ride.
