Corkscrew

Cedar Point
Built in 1976, America's Bicentennial year, the Corkscrew proudly displays its patriotic red, white and blue colors as it takes guests upside down over the Cedar Point Midway. Built on five acres, Corkscrew begins with an 85-foot tall lift hill. From there riders cruise along 2,050 feet of tubular steel track at speeds of up to 48 mph and are sent upside down in a 360-degree loop and two corkscrews. When Corkscrew opened on May 15, 1976, it was the first roller coaster in the world to feature three inversions and the first to span a midway. Since its opening, Corkscrew has given more than 30 million rides.
