Blazing Fury

Dollywood

Blazing Fury is an enclosed steel coaster built by Herschend Family Entertainment prior to the park becoming Dollywood. The 18-passenger trains have an on-board electric motor that propels them up the inclines, but the trains are propelled by gravity during the roller coaster’s three drops.

Blazing Fury is based on a story that an out-of-control fire set by a group of vigilantes is just minutes away from engulfing this 1880s town. Of course, if you choose to ride you’re instantly recruited to battle this mighty blaze and the only way to do so is to douse it with plenty of water.

Part dark ride and part roller coaster, Blazing Fury takes riders through scenes of the town residents trying to put out the fire, a crossover a collapsing bridge, a near miss by a passing steam train and a crash into a dynamite storage shack. Finally, the roller coaster ends with a drop into a pool of water.
