Fairly Odd Coaster

Kings Island

This is a junior wooden roller coaster designed for children. Fairly Odd Coaster opened in 1972 as an original attraction at Kings Island. Originally named Scooby Doo, the name was later changed to Beastie in 1980 and a tunnel was added at the bottom of the first drop. In 2006, the park renamed it again when the surrounding area was rethemed Nickelodeon Central. This scaled down coaster brings adult-sizes thrills to pint-sized thrill seekers. Designed by John Allen and built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, Fairly Odd Coaster has a double out and back layout with one crossover. Standing 38-feet, 6 inches tall, this junior woodie has a 35-foot drop, 1,350-feet of track and a top speed of 35 mph. Two trains accomodate 20-passengers on this minute and half long ride.
