Please note, Thunder Run roller coaster and Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom are presently closed.
The concept for this roller coaster began as a sketch on a cocktail napkin by John Fetterman who later designed the coaster for the now defunct Americana Amusement Park (aka LeSourdsville Lake) in 1986. Thunder Run never came to be at Americana, but instead was built at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom four years later.
