On July 15, 2005 Space Mountain returned to Tomorrowland just in time for Disneyland's 50th anniversary. This timeless classic has been upgraded with brand-new effects and a longer re-entry tunnel. The coaster track, support structure and trains have been entirely replaced during the 27 month's this attraction was put on hiatus. The original building a Ripped Cone Shape designed by John Hench with a 200-foot diameter remains. Inside there is 1,811,710 cubic feet of interior space and the bottom of the structure rests 17-feet below ground level.
