Please note, Six Flags New Orleans remains closed until further notice due to severe damage from Hurricane Katrina in late August 2005.
Six Flags New Orleans theme park featured thrilling rides, spectacular entertainment and delicious food for the entire family. This 140-acre park debuted in spring 2000 as Jazzland, New Orleans' only major theme park. The park struggled during its first two years of operation and eventually filed for bankruptcy. In 2002, Jazzland was purchased by Six Flags, Inc. the world's largest regional theme park operator who in November re-branded the theme park Six Flags New Orleans.
